Job Description

Columbia Shipmanagement Indonesia is seeking an experienced Cook to join a Bulk Carrier vessel.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing meals for the crew, managing daily galley activities and maintaining high standards of food hygiene, sanitation and safe food storage.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare daily meals for the vessel's crew.
• Plan menus and organize food preparation.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the galley and mess areas.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of food supplies.
• Monitor provisions and report shortages.
• Maintain catering equipment in good working condition.
• Follow onboard health, safety and food hygiene procedures.

Requirements

• Previous sea-going experience as a Cook or in a similar shipboard catering position.
• Bulk Carrier experience is preferred.
• Relevant professional cooking, catering or food hygiene qualifications, where applicable.
• Valid STCW certificates appropriate to the position.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Valid passport and seafarer documents.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, sanitation and safe food storage.
• Good English communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multinational crew.
