Job Description:
A drilling company is seeking an experienced Assistant Cook to join a Drillship on a 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off rotation.
The successful candidate will support the Chief Cook and catering team in preparing meals for the crew, maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene, and ensuring the smooth operation of the galley. The role is suitable for candidates with previous catering or hospitality experience, particularly in offshore or maritime environments.
This is a long-term contract with joining opportunities every week. Each voyage is approximately 28 days onboard followed by 28 days off.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Prepare and cook meals for the crew while accommodating dietary requirements and maintaining high-quality standards.
Assist the Chief Cook with monitoring food supplies and minimising waste.
Work with the catering team to plan and prepare varied menus.
Maintain a clean, hygienic, and well-organised galley in accordance with food safety and sanitation requirements.
Provide good service to the crew and participate in emergency procedures and onboard drills.
Requirements:
Previous experience in catering or hospitality, preferably in offshore or maritime environments.
Relevant food safety and hygiene certificates.
Good health and physical fitness.
Ability to work effectively as part of a catering team.
Good communication skills and ability to understand crew dietary requirements.
Adaptability to a dynamic offshore working environment.
Good understanding of and compliance with onboard safety policies and procedures.
Valid STCW and medical certificates as applicable.
