Job Description:
Vessel Type: Luxury Cruise Vessel
A leading luxury cruise company is seeking an experienced Assistant Cook to join its international galley team. The successful candidate will support the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and Chef de Partie in the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, food safety, and sanitation in accordance with USPH/CDC guidelines. This role requires previous experience in luxury hospitality or cruise operations and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Assist in food preparation, mise en place, and timely service for breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea time, cocktails, and appetizers.
Support galley cleaning, provision loading, food storage, labeling, stock rotation, and temperature monitoring.
Maintain strict compliance with USPH sanitation and food handling standards.
Assist Chef de Partie in maintaining food quality, presentation, and operational efficiency.
Work collaboratively with the galley team and participate in all safety drills and company training.
Requirements:
Valid STCW certificates
Medical fitness certificate
Proficiency in English communication
Minimum 3 years of experience in the same position onboard a cruise vessel or in a 4- or 5-star luxury hotel
Experience with international cuisine
Good understanding of USPH standards related to galley operations
High school diploma
Minimum age: 21 years
Reference from previous employer
Domestic Police Clearance
No visible tattoos while wearing company uniform
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 22 kg (50 lbs)
Ability to work in a multicultural, international environment
