Job Description:
An established shipping company is recruiting 8 experienced Chief Cooks to join Capesize Bulk Carrier vessels. The Chief Cook will be responsible for preparing meals for the crew and maintaining high standards of food hygiene and galley operations. Experience preparing European or Indian cuisine is required.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Prepare daily meals for the vessel's crew, including European and/or Indian cuisine.
Plan menus and manage food preparation according to crew requirements.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and galley safety.
Monitor food supplies and assist with inventory control.
Ensure the galley and cooking equipment are properly maintained and safely operated.
Requirements:
Valid STCW certificates
Medical fitness certificate
Proficiency in English communication
Valid Ship's Cook / Chief Cook certification as applicable
Proven experience with European or Indian cuisine
Previous experience onboard Bulk Carriers or similar vessels preferred
Valid Passport and Seaman's Book
