Job Description

We are seeking a creative, confident, and experienced female Sole Chef to join a 44m private sailing yacht in France as soon as possible.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience aboard yachts of a similar size and be a versatile culinary professional capable of delivering delicious, varied, and consistently high-quality meals for both guests and crew.

Elaborate fine dining is not essential. The focus is on excellent flavours, creativity, variety, and well-executed dishes prepared with care and attention to detail. The successful candidate should genuinely enjoy cooking and take pride in producing beautiful, flavourful food without unnecessary complexity.

The yacht has a crew of eight, and the Chef will be responsible for all galley operations, including guest and crew meals, menu planning, provisioning, stock management, and maintaining excellent hygiene standards. There are currently no specific dietary requirements.

Confidence in communicating with guests, discussing menus, and personally presenting dishes is important, as is the ability to adapt to guest preferences while maintaining consistently high standards.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, personable, and professional, with a positive attitude, a good sense of humour, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. The ability to integrate into a close-knit crew and interact comfortably with guests is essential.

  • A positive, adaptable, and professional attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and remain composed under pressure.
