Carnival is looking for experienced Galley Junior Sous Chefs to join its onboard Culinary Arts team in the Galley, Pantry and Buffet operations.

As a Junior Sous Chef, you will support the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in overseeing culinary operations within your assigned area. You will assist in supervising a hardworking and diverse culinary team and help manage the day-to-day preparation and service of food, ensuring consistency, quality, cost effectiveness and high standards of sanitation in accordance with company and USPH standards.

This is an onboard cruise ship position in a large, fast-paced and multicultural working environment, offering the opportunity to develop your career within Galley Management and work at sea.

Key Responsibilities:

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
• Support the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in the daily operation of the assigned culinary area
• Assist in supervising and coordinating the culinary team
• Oversee daily food preparation and meal service, maintaining consistent quality and presentation
• Ensure compliance with company food-safety, sanitation and USPH standards
• Monitor smooth and cost-effective food production while maintaining high service standards

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar culinary position
• Conversational/fluent spoken English sufficient for communication with guests and crew
• Previous guest-facing experience is required
• Physically fit and able to pass a Seafarers Medical Fitness Examination
• “Can-do” attitude and focus on continuous improvement
• Ability to work effectively as part of a large, diverse and busy team
