Chief Cook for Handysize Vessel

Job Description:

Stella Marris Shipmanagement Inc. is recruiting 3 Chief Cooks to join Handysize vessels. The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing meals for the crew, managing galley operations, maintaining food hygiene standards, and ensuring the proper storage and handling of provisions. Candidates should be able to work independently and maintain efficient catering services onboard.

Key Responsibilities:

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Prepare daily meals for officers and crew members.
• Plan menus and organize food preparation according to onboard requirements.
• Manage food provisions, inventory, and proper storage.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the galley and food preparation areas.
• Follow onboard food safety, sanitation, and occupational safety procedures.

Requirements:

• Valid STCW certificates applicable to the position.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Valid Seaman's Book and passport.
• Proficiency in English communication.
• Previous experience as a Chief Cook on merchant vessels is preferred.
• Experience on Handysize vessels is an advantage.
• Relevant food handling and hygiene certificates, where required.
