Job Description
An international EPC contractor active in dredging and offshore wind installation is seeking an experienced Offshore Camp Boss to join its modern fleet of dredgers, cable-laying vessels and jack-up vessels.
The Offshore Camp Boss is responsible for the overall hotel and catering services onboard the vessel or offshore platform and leads the catering team. The position combines catering management, crew supervision, food-stock control and onboard safety responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the catering team onboard.
- Organize catering personnel, work schedules and daily work allocation.
- Ensure safe and efficient delivery of hotel and catering services.
- Maintain adequate food stocks and manage stock rotation.
- Monitor food hygiene, preparation and storage standards.
- Support menu planning with consideration for nutritional requirements.
- Ensure all catering activities comply with applicable safety regulations.
- Ensure catering personnel use the correct PPE and follow safe working practices.
- Provide guidance, coaching and leadership to the catering crew.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food quality.
- Deliver professional and consistent customer service to personnel onboard.
- Work effectively with colleagues and management in an international offshore environment.
Requirements
- Certified Cook / Chef qualification – mandatory.
- Minimum 4 years of professional cooking experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Camp Boss onboard a vessel, offshore platform or in a similar offshore position.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Cooking and food preparation
- Food hygiene and sanitation
- Stock rotation and provisioning
- Nutritional aspects of menu planning
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to be clear, direct and respectful.
- Positive attitude and passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
- Loyal, committed and team-oriented approach.
- Strong safety awareness and a safety-first mindset.
- Ability to work internationally and in demanding offshore conditions.
