We are looking for a Baker to join our amazing Culinary Team aboard one of our vessels. As a Baker, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods, ensuring quality, consistency, and the highest level of sanitation in keeping with company and USPH standards. Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
- Adhering to Carnival's timekeeping and attendance policies
- Attending all safety-related duties and functions as required
- Having intermediate-level knowledge of USPH policies of the culinary arts
- Maintaining all records associated with USPH policies in the assigned work area
- Fostering and maintaining positive working relationships within the assigned team
- Speaking up and contributing to the success of operations, offering feedback and suggestions
- Having a thorough knowledge of all recipes associated with assigned operations
- Ensuring food quality and that its replenishment is maintained
- Ensuring that food is served at the right temperature to maintain quality and food safety
- Having a clear understanding of and participating in cost management and waste reduction objectives

Requirements:
- Valid STCW certificates
- Medical fitness certificate (Seafarers Medical Fitness Examination)
- Proficiency in English communication (conversational)
- Minimum 1-year vocational education in culinary arts or equivalent certified apprenticeship program for pastry or bakery
- Good knife skills and proficiency in the use of basic chef knives and pastry utensils
- Good knowledge of all types of doughs and batters
- Familiarity with the operation of pastry deck and convection oven, planetary mixers, and dough sheeter
- Ability to produce breakfast bread and pastries
- Sugar and chocolate decorate skills are an advantage
- Cake decorating and icing skills along with scripting are an advantage
- Minimum 24 months as a full-time employee in a pastry/bakery production role (educational background may be considered)
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a similar role
- Guest facing experience (minimum guest interaction might be required)
- Physically fit
- "Can-do" attitude with focus on continuous improvement and collaboration
- At least 21 years of age
