On April 25, 2026, US naval forces intercepted a sanctioned ship in the Arabian Sea. This action was part of the Trump administration’s efforts to block Iranian energy exports, according to US Central Command.

The ship, M/V Sevan, was one of 19 vessels that the US Treasury Department sanctioned for being involved in transporting Iranian oil, gas, and other energy products worth billions of dollars to international markets.

On Saturday, the US Navy deployed a helicopter to intercept the Sevan, which then followed military instructions to return to Iran under escort.

The Sevan, a tanker that has previously carried Iranian shipments, was tracked approaching the Strait of Hormuz. It is owned and managed by Anka Energy & Logistics Co., based in Dubai.

US forces are actively enforcing the blockade against vessels entering or leaving Iranian ports, with 37 ships redirected since the start of these actions, according to Centcom.

Earlier on Saturday, President Donald Trump canceled a trip by his senior envoys to Pakistan that was planned for talks on a potential deal with Iran, raising concerns about the future of peace negotiations between the two countries.
