Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, SAI Engineering has a team of experts with over 10 years of experience. They specialize in vessel electrification and the installation and retrofitting of bearings and seals. With their strong background in naval architecture, they can offer valuable insights on new ship designs from the earliest stages. Their clients include operators and builders of ferries, river tugs, leisure craft, fishing boats, and the Canadian Coast Guard.
SAI Engineering shares Thordon Bearings' commitment to green vessel operations. The company also provides services to Canada’s industrial and forestry sectors, aligning with the shipbuilding industry’s focus on sustainable practices, which is a key area for Thordon's involvement.
The partnership covers Thordon’s full product line, including the COMPAC propeller shaft bearing system that uses seawater lubrication to prevent sterntube oil pollution. It also features RiverTough propeller shaft bearings that excel in abrasive and dirty water conditions, as well as SXL bearings and ThorPlas-Blue polymer bearings, which allow for grease-free operation of rudders and deck equipment.
