Moxie Media is set to host its inaugural user event, Moxie Connect: User Conference 2026, a free gathering for all maritime professionals, on Wednesday, December 2, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, coinciding with the International WorkBoat Show. This half-day event aims to unite Moxie customers and experts in maritime training, safety, compliance, and workforce development for discussions, demonstrations, and insights on how technology is changing maritime education.
Moxie Connect comes at a significant moment in Moxie Media’s growth. In 2025, Moxie joined forces with Mintra, a global leader in digital learning and workforce management solutions. This partnership merges Moxie’s extensive experience in U.S. maritime training with Mintra’s wider range of learning technologies, competency management, and workforce solutions.
“Being part of Mintra has allowed us to enhance our offerings while continuing to focus on what we excel at in the U.S. maritime market,” said Martin Glenday, President of Moxie Media. “Moxie Connect is an opportunity to bring together this enhanced offering and provide customers and the maritime community a closer look at the future of training, technology, and workforce management.”
A highlight of the expanded offerings is the Trainingportal, Mintra’s Learning and Competency Management System. This system combines Moxie’s proven methods of maritime learning with Mintra’s advanced features for managing training, competency, and compliance. During Moxie Connect, attendees will see live demonstrations showcasing user experience, mobile learning features, maritime training content, and workforce training management tools.
The event will also discuss the increasing link between training and competency management. Trainingportal offers tools that assist organizations in defining role-based requirements, managing assessments, and maintaining competency evidence along with training records. The program will include an introduction to Mentor AI, Mintra’s artificial intelligence solution, highlighting practical uses of AI and digital learning tools to foster continuous learning and workforce readiness.
“Technology is most effective when it helps organizations leverage the information they already have about their staff, training, and needs,” said Parker Hillery, Operations Manager and LMS Lead at Moxie Media. “By combining competency management, training data, and AI, organizations gain new insights into workforce readiness while ensuring a practical experience for those managing training and compliance.”
Moxie Connect will also include an Integration Partner Showcase, highlighting how Trainingportal interfaces with vessel management systems to exchange training and competency information across an organization.
An update session on regulations will offer insights into current changes impacting maritime organizations. Other sessions will address the future of Moxie’s maritime training materials, including new Coast Guard-related courses and additional resources for maritime training and compliance.
The event welcomes existing Moxie customers and maritime organizations eager to learn more about Moxie, Mintra, and Trainingportal. Attendance at Moxie Connect is free, but space is limited, and registration in advance is required.
As an extra perk, registered participants will receive a complimentary pass to the International WorkBoat Show exhibit hall, enabling them to attend the morning event and then explore the WorkBoat exhibition.
A Southern-style breakfast, coffee, and refreshments will be served during the event.
