Inmarsat Maritime's fully managed bonded connectivity service will enhance the efficient operations of the new vessels with unlimited data and excellent performance.
Inmarsat Maritime, a part of Viasat, will implement its NexusWave service on Krey Schiffahrt's four new heavy lift vessels. This service will help the German ship manager improve operational efficiency and benefit from constant, unlimited connectivity.
Krey Schiffahrt currently oversees eight modern multi-purpose heavy lift vessels and is expanding its fleet to adapt to changing project cargo needs. The new project cargo carriers are designed for operational flexibility, featuring optimized hull shapes and advanced propulsion systems that will cut carbon dioxide emissions by over 35% compared to similar vessels.
Inmarsat NexusWave will ensure that performance monitoring and energy management systems stay connected no matter where the vessels are operating. This bonded multi-network service is made to offer global coverage, managed performance, and unlimited data, providing secure, high-speed connectivity for both operations and crew activities.
Captain Maxim Babenko, Nautical Superintendent at Krey Schiffahrt, said: “Our new heavy lift vessels are built to tackle various challenging projects efficiently, making reliable connectivity essential. NexusWave’s managed service and unlimited data will keep our vital systems connected constantly and improve crew welfare. Partnering with Inmarsat gives us confidence in having a single, trusted provider for all our connectivity needs.”
Jan-Henning Stehr, Sales Manager – Europe at Inmarsat Maritime, commented: “Modern vessels need modern connectivity, and Inmarsat NexusWave provides just that. For Krey Schiffahrt’s new project cargo carriers, NexusWave will ensure seamless high-speed connectivity, supporting fuel efficiency, ongoing monitoring, and the wellbeing of the crew, no matter where they sail.”
