ATHENS, Oct 22 – The Greek finance ministry announced on Thursday that it is enforcing sanctions related to Iran and supports efforts to fight money laundering and terrorism financing effectively.

This statement follows the US Treasury Department's announcement on Wednesday that it sanctioned Karnakis & Karnakis, a law firm located in Greece and Panama, for allegedly providing legal help to Iranian shipping networks over the years.

Additionally, the Treasury revealed that the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network has issued an administrative subpoena as part of an investigation into a Greek bank, which has not been named.

In response, the Greek finance ministry stated that it has acknowledged the US Treasury's announcement, mentioning that "all available information is being assessed, and appropriate measures are being taken in line with established procedures and relevant national, EU, and international laws."
