ABS and JB Energy have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to work together on strategic studies for the proposed Aura Sul Wind Project. This project is a floating offshore wind pilot being considered in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
ABS will focus on two main areas: reducing emissions at the Port of Rio Grande and developing a preliminary decommissioning strategy for JB Energy’s Raijin Float platform, which is a concrete-based, semi-submersible floating wind foundation.

Our partnership with JB Energy will support studies that promote safe, sustainable, and economically viable offshore wind development in Brazil."

The studies will cover emissions reduction strategies for the Port of Rio Grande, including electrification, renewable energy integration, low-carbon logistics, clean fuel options, and related infrastructure.
Additionally, the studies will look at removal concepts, towing and transportation, dismantling, port logistics, environmental and safety issues, as well as recycling and reuse options for the Raijin Float platform.
