Job Description
Navis is recruiting an experienced Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) to join a CONRO vessel operating between the Spanish mainland and the Canary Islands.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical, electronic, automation and control systems onboard, ensuring safe and reliable operation throughout the contract.
A minimum of 24 months of actual onboard experience as an ETO on similar vessel types is mandatory. Previous RoRo vessel experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical, electronic and automation systems.
- Ensure the safe operation of electrical generation and distribution equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections and repairs.
- Monitor control, alarm, communication and monitoring systems.
- Diagnose electrical faults and carry out corrective maintenance.
- Maintain accurate technical records and maintenance documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable maritime safety regulations.
- Coordinate with the engineering team to maintain vessel operational readiness.
- Participate in safety meetings, emergency drills and maintenance activities.
- Follow onboard HSE and environmental procedures.
Requirements
- Valid Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) License – mandatory.
- Minimum 24 months of actual onboard ETO experience on similar vessel types – mandatory.
- Previous RoRo vessel experience – preferred.
- Valid COC, applicable Endorsement and all relevant STCW certificates.
- English proficiency test completed within the last 3 months – mandatory.
- Valid passport.
- Valid Seaman's Book.
- Valid medical fitness certificate.
- Full COVID-19 vaccination – mandatory.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good command of English.
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work effectively within a multinational crew.
- Availability to join at the end of October 2026.
