Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Third Officer / DPO to join a Cable Lay Vessel (CLV) for offshore cable installation and related marine operations.

The successful candidate must have proven experience onboard Cable Lay Vessels and a minimum of 24 months of actual onboard experience in rank. Candidates with Aramco or ADNOC approval are highly preferred.

The role involves navigational watchkeeping, DP operations, bridge duties, and supporting safe vessel operations during offshore cable-laying activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform navigational watchkeeping duties in accordance with vessel procedures.
• Conduct DP operations within the scope of valid qualifications and assigned responsibilities.
• Monitor vessel position, heading, and DP system status during offshore operations.
• Assist with passage planning, bridge administration, and navigational documentation.
• Support offshore cable-laying operations and coordinate with the bridge and project teams.
• Participate in safety drills and emergency response activities.
• Maintain accurate navigational and operational records.
• Follow company HSE procedures and applicable maritime regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience onboard Cable Lay Vessels – mandatory.
• Minimum 24 months of actual onboard experience in rank.
• Valid Officer of the Watch Certificate of Competency appropriate to the position.
• Valid DP certificate appropriate to the assigned DPO duties.
• Valid, up-to-date STCW certificates relevant to the position.
• Valid Seaman's Book and medical fitness certificate, where applicable.
• Aramco / ADNOC approval – highly preferred.
• Good English communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of navigational watchkeeping, DP operations, and offshore safety procedures.
• Availability for offshore mobilisation as required.
