Job Description
A leading offshore crewing company is currently seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join a Self-Propelled Jack-Up Barge DP2 operating in Qatar.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the engine department, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of propulsion systems, power generation, auxiliary machinery, DP-related equipment, and planned maintenance while maintaining full compliance with international maritime regulations and company HSE standards.
This opportunity is ideal for highly experienced offshore Chief Engineers with previous Self-Propelled Jack-Up Barge experience.

Job Responsibilities
- Manage all engine room operations and engineering personnel
- Ensure safe operation of propulsion, power generation, and auxiliary systems
- Supervise planned maintenance and repair activities
- Monitor machinery performance and fuel efficiency
- Maintain DP-related engineering systems
- Ensure compliance with ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and company HSE procedures
- Maintain engineering documentation and statutory records
- Lead emergency response related to engineering systems
- Promote safe working practices throughout the engine department
Requirements
- Valid Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (CoC)
- Valid STCW certification package
- Minimum 24–36 months of actual onboard experience as Chief Engineer on Self-Propelled Jack-Up Barges
- Valid passport, seaman book, and medical certificate
- Previous employer references
- Good English communication skills
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Strong leadership, technical knowledge, and safety awareness
- Physically and medically fit for offshore service
