Job Description

Boreas Maritime is seeking an experienced Able Seaman (AB) to join a Multicat vessel.

The successful candidate must have previous onboard experience specifically on Multicat vessels, hold a valid Able Seafarer Deck qualification, and possess all required STCW certificates and a valid Seaman's Book.

A valid Schengen Visa is mandatory for this position. Candidates must also demonstrate good English communication skills and the ability to perform deck duties safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine deck maintenance, cleaning, painting, and preservation.
• Assist with mooring, unmooring, and other deck operations.
• Support towing, anchor-handling, and marine support activities as required by the vessel.
• Assist with handling and securing equipment and materials.
• Inspect and maintain deck equipment and lifesaving appliances.
• Participate in onboard safety drills and emergency response activities.
• Follow instructions from the Bosun, Chief Officer, and Master.
• Report equipment defects and unsafe working conditions.
• Maintain a safe and organised working environment.
• Comply with company procedures and applicable maritime safety requirements.

Requirements

• Previous experience on Multicat vessels – mandatory.
• Valid Able Seafarer Deck qualification.
• Valid STCW certificates.
• Valid Seaman's Book.
• Valid Schengen Visa – mandatory.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Relevant deck operations and maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of onboard safety procedures and safe equipment-handling practices.
• Valid medical fitness certificate, where required.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a professional marine crew.
• Availability for the required joining schedule.
