Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced Able Seaman (AB) to join a Cable Lay Vessel operating on offshore cable installation projects.

Candidates must have previous onboard experience on Cable Lay Vessels and hold valid STCW certificates relevant to the position. Applicants with Aramco or ADNOC approval are highly preferred.

The successful candidate will support deck operations, equipment handling, maintenance, and offshore project activities while maintaining high standards of safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine deck maintenance, cleaning, painting, and preservation.
• Assist with mooring, anchoring, and other deck operations.
• Support cable-laying operations and the handling of relevant deck equipment as assigned.
• Assist with rigging, lifting, and securing equipment within the scope of training and authorisation.
• Inspect deck equipment and report defects or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain clean and safe working areas.
• Participate in toolbox talks, emergency drills, and safety activities.
• Follow instructions from the Bosun and deck officers.

Requirements

• Previous experience onboard Cable Lay Vessels – mandatory.
• Previous experience as an Able Seaman on offshore vessels.
• Valid STCW certificates appropriate to the position.
• Valid Able Seaman Certificate of Proficiency (COP), where applicable.
• Valid Seaman's Book and medical fitness certificate, where applicable.
• Aramco / ADNOC approval – highly preferred.
• Good English communication skills.
• Knowledge of deck maintenance, safe equipment handling, and offshore HSE procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a professional offshore crew.
