Job Description:
We are urgently recruiting a 2nd Engineer for a Cable Lay vessel operating on offshore projects.
Start date: 05 May 2026
Contract duration: ± 5 weeks
The role involves supporting engine room operations onboard a cable lay vessel engaged in offshore installation activities, ensuring safe and efficient functioning of all machinery and technical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
• Assisting the Chief Engineer in daily engine room operations
• Monitoring, maintenance, and repair of main and auxiliary machinery
• Ensuring safe operation of propulsion and power systems
• Carrying out planned maintenance system (PMS) tasks
• Supporting cable lay operations from a technical standpoint
• Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental procedures onboard

Requirements:
• Valid BOSIET certificate
• Valid GWO Sea Survival certificate
• Eligibility to work in the UK (mandatory)
• Experience as 2nd Engineer on offshore or similar vessel types (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of marine engineering systems
• Ability to work in offshore environment
