Wiper for General Cargo Vessel

Job Description

Scanmar Maritime Services, Inc. is seeking a Wiper holding an OIC license for service onboard a general cargo vessel. The successful candidate will assist the engine department with routine cleaning, maintenance, and machinery-related duties in accordance with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Clean and maintain engine-room spaces and assigned equipment.
• Assist engine officers and ratings with routine maintenance tasks.
• Support machinery inspections and report visible defects.
• Keep tools and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow engine-room safety procedures and participate in emergency drills.

Requirements

• Relevant experience as a Wiper or in an engine-room position.
• Valid OIC license, as specified in the vacancy.
• Valid STCW certificates appropriate to the position.
• Valid seafarer medical fitness certificate.
• Valid Seaman’s Book and passport.
• Proficiency in English communication.
