Oiler for VLCC Tanker Vessel

Job Description

Jebsen PTC Maritime Incorporated is recruiting two qualified Oilers to join a VLCC crude oil tanker. The successful candidates will assist the engine department with machinery monitoring, lubrication, routine maintenance, and maintaining a safe and clean engine room.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Monitor assigned engine-room machinery and lubrication systems.
• Assist engineers with routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Check equipment condition and report defects or abnormal operating conditions.
• Maintain engine-room cleanliness and keep tools and equipment organized.
• Follow engine-room safety procedures and participate in emergency drills.

Requirements

• Relevant experience as an Oiler or in a similar engine-room position.
• Valid STCW certificates appropriate to the position.
• Valid seafarer medical fitness certificate.
• Valid passport and Seaman’s Book.
• Proficiency in English communication.
• Previous crude oil tanker experience and any required tanker familiarization training should meet company and flag requirements.
