Job Description

Marsaman is inviting applications from qualified and experienced seafarers for a full crew recruitment campaign aboard a Bulk Carrier vessel.

Vacancies are available across the deck, engine, electrical, and catering departments. Applications are welcome from candidates who possess the qualifications, certificates, and professional experience appropriate to their intended positions.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

Deck Officers

• Ensure safe vessel navigation, passage planning, and watchkeeping according to the assigned rank.
• Coordinate deck operations and support safe cargo-handling activities.
• Supervise deck personnel and maintain operational readiness.
• Maintain navigational records and ensure compliance with onboard safety procedures.

Engine Officers

• Operate and maintain main engines, auxiliary machinery, and associated systems.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Monitor machinery performance and maintain accurate engineering records.
• Ensure safe and efficient engine-room operations.

Electro-Technical Officer (ETO)

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, automation, and control systems.
• Inspect electrical equipment and power-distribution systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs.
• Ensure the reliable operation of onboard electrical and electronic equipment.

Deck Ratings

• Carry out routine deck maintenance, cleaning, painting, and preservation.
• Assist with mooring, anchoring, and cargo operations as assigned.
• Maintain deck equipment and lifesaving appliances.
• Follow instructions from senior officers and comply with onboard safety procedures.

Engine-Room Ratings & Technical Personnel

• Assist with machinery maintenance, lubrication, inspections, and repairs.
• Support fitting, welding, and fabrication activities where applicable.
• Monitor equipment condition and report defects to engineering officers.
• Maintain engine-room cleanliness and follow safe working practices.

Catering Department

• Prepare and serve meals for officers and crew according to the assigned role.
• Maintain galley hygiene, food safety, and proper food storage.
• Assist with provisioning, food preparation, and inventory management.
• Maintain cleanliness in the mess room and assigned accommodation areas.

Requirements

• Relevant experience in the position applied for.
• Valid Certificate of Competency (CoC), Certificate of Proficiency (COP), or other professional qualifications appropriate to the rank.
• Valid STCW certificates relevant to the position.
• Valid Seaman's Book and medical fitness certificate, where applicable.
• Relevant technical qualifications for engineering, electrical, welding, and fitting positions.
• Appropriate training and qualifications for catering personnel, where required.
• Previous Bulk Carrier experience preferred.
• Good English communication skills.
• Strong awareness of onboard safety procedures and applicable maritime regulations.
• Ability to work effectively as part of an international crew.
• Availability and readiness to meet the employer's joining requirements.
