Fitter for VLCC Tanker Vessel

Job Description

Jebsen PTC Maritime Incorporated is seeking a skilled Fitter to join a VLCC crude oil tanker. The successful candidate will support the engine department by carrying out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and inspections of shipboard machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment.
• Assist with dismantling, fitting, and reassembling mechanical components.
• Inspect equipment and report defects or excessive wear to the responsible engineer.
• Maintain workshop tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow onboard safety procedures and applicable maintenance requirements.

Requirements

• Relevant experience as a marine Fitter or in a similar mechanical role.
• Valid STCW certificates as required for the position.
• Valid seafarer medical fitness certificate.
• Valid passport and Seaman’s Book.
• Proficiency in English communication.
• Previous tanker experience is an advantage; any mandatory vessel-specific training must meet company and flag requirements.
