Job Description

An international cargo fleet is seeking an experienced Indonesian Chief Officer to oversee deck operations and support the safe navigation and efficient operation of the vessel. Candidates must have relevant experience in the same rank and vessel type and be able to work effectively with a multinational crew.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Assisting the Master with safe navigation and vessel operations.
• Supervising deck crew and coordinating daily deck activities.
• Planning and overseeing cargo operations, including loading, discharging, and securing cargo as applicable.
• Managing deck maintenance, safety inspections, and equipment readiness.
• Maintaining relevant deck records and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
• Supporting emergency preparedness, drills, and onboard safety management.

Requirements

• Indonesian nationality.
• Valid Chief Officer Certificate of Competency and relevant STCW 2010 certificates.
• All documents and certificates valid for at least 18 months.
• Experience as Chief Officer on the same vessel type.
• Minimum 36 months of foreign-going vessel experience.
• Experience working with multinational crews.
• Good English communication and leadership skills.
• Medical fitness for sea service.
