Location: Global (LPG Fleet)
Job Description:
The Chief Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all engineering systems on board the LPG carrier. This role ensures that all machinery, fuel, and technical equipment are maintained according to safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Managing the engine department and supervising engineers and oilers.
• Overseeing maintenance, repairs, and performance of all mechanical systems.
• Ensuring compliance with ISM, MARPOL, and company policies.
• Preparing daily engine room reports and fuel consumption logs.
• Conducting regular safety and emergency equipment checks.
Requirements:
• Valid STCW certification with Chief Engineer license (Gas Carrier).
• Minimum 3 years of experience as Chief Engineer on LPG or chemical tankers.
• In-depth knowledge of engine systems and safety management.
• Medical fitness certificate and valid tanker endorsement.
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
