Bosun for General Cargo Vessel

Job Description

Scanmar Maritime Services, Inc. is looking for an experienced Bosun to supervise deck ratings and support safe deck operations onboard a general cargo vessel.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Supervise deck ratings during maintenance and operational tasks.
• Assist with mooring, anchoring, and cargo-related deck operations.
• Maintain deck equipment, tools, and working areas.
• Ensure that deck maintenance is performed safely and efficiently.
• Follow instructions from the Master and deck officers and support emergency drills.

Requirements

• Relevant experience as a Bosun or in a similar deck position.
• Valid STCW certificates appropriate to the position.
• Valid seafarer medical fitness certificate.
• Valid Seaman’s Book and passport.
• Proficiency in English communication.
• Knowledge of deck maintenance and safe working practices.
