Job Description:
Atlas NextWave are currently looking for a UK based Ballast Control Operator to join a semi-submersible currently located in UK Shipyard for a 2-week hitch, commencing on 12th May, following into a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off ongoing rotation.

Key Responsibilities:
· Operating the ballast control system in order to maintain the rig's position, draft and trim with respect to the well location
· Operating the ballast/stability computer and carrying out load deck surveys
· Responsible for ballasting and de-ballasting the rig as required and maintaining the station
· Monitoring all ballast controls and related instrumentation, monitoring the location of supply vessels, standby boats and helicopters
· Recording reports pertaining to stability, boat and helicopter movements, safety drills and rig activities in the daily logbook, maintaining a continuous listening watch on VHF radio and maintaining regular communication with supply and standby vessels
· Monitoring variable deck load on a daily basis to calculate and maintain the rig's stability, preparing the daily and weekly stability reports for the rig
· Assisting in supervising the transfer of bulk materials to and from the rig, keeping records of all bulk materials movement, monitoring quantities of expendables such as fuel, potable water, drill water and reporting findings to the Barge Supervisor
· Informing the Barge Supervisor or Assistant Barge Supervisor on any anomalies that may affect the safety and efficiency of the operation
· Carrying out preventive maintenance on ballast control equipment and other marine equipment as required, inspecting ballast equipment and other marine operations and lifesaving equipment for safe working conditions
· Assisting the Barge Supervisor in carrying out rig move plans, aiding anchor handling boats and performing mobilisation and demobilisation preparations when required

Requirements:
Mandatory Certificates:
· Survival (BOSIET / FOET with CA-EBS)
· MIST (Minimum Industry Safety Training)
· Medical (OGUK or equivalent offshore medical)
· Shoulders (Shoulder Measurement)
· BCO Ticket (Ballast Control Operator certificate)
Additional Requirements:
· UK based – mandatory
· Valid STCW certificates as applicable
· Valid Passport and Seaman's Book
· Proficiency in English communication (verbal and written)
· Availability: Must be available to commence on 12th May for 2-week hitch, then ongoing 3/3 rotation
