Job Description
Select Offshore is currently recruiting experienced catering and hospitality personnel to join a Heavy Lift Vessel (HLV) operating in the Far East.
Applications are invited for Second Cook, Steward, and Laundryman / Laundrywoman positions. Candidates must hold valid offshore safety training certificates, relevant STCW certificates, and a valid Schengen Visa.
Successful candidates should be reliable, organized, and capable of maintaining high standards of catering, housekeeping, hygiene, and onboard services. Immediate availability is preferred.
Open Positions
1. Second Cook
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Cook with daily meal preparation for officers and crew.
- Prepare meals according to menus, dietary requirements, and onboard catering standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the galley and food-preparation areas.
- Assist with food storage, stock rotation, and provisioning.
- Ensure safe food handling and proper temperature control.
- Maintain galley equipment and follow onboard food-safety procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Second Cook or in a similar shipboard catering position.
- Relevant cooking and food-hygiene knowledge.
- Valid STCW certificates.
- Valid BOSIET with CA-EBS.
- Valid Schengen Visa.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
- Availability to join ASAP.
2. Steward
Key Responsibilities
- Provide meal service and support daily catering operations.
- Maintain cleanliness in mess rooms, accommodation areas, and assigned spaces.
- Assist with table preparation, serving meals, and clearing dining areas.
- Support galley housekeeping and provision handling as required.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and presentation.
- Follow onboard safety, sanitation, and housekeeping procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Steward, Messman, or in a similar hospitality role preferred.
- Knowledge of food service, housekeeping, and hygiene standards.
- Valid STCW certificates.
- Valid BOSIET with CA-EBS.
- Valid Schengen Visa.
- Good English communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an international crew.
- Availability to join ASAP.
3. Laundryman / Laundrywoman
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily laundry operations for crew clothing, uniforms, linen, and towels.
- Operate washing machines, dryers, irons, and other laundry equipment safely.
- Sort garments and linens according to fabric type and washing requirements.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and garment care.
- Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and hygienic.
- Monitor laundry supplies and report equipment issues or shortages.
- Follow onboard safety and hygiene procedures.
Requirements
- Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred.
- Familiarity with professional laundry equipment and garment-care procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid STCW certificates.
- Valid BOSIET with CA-EBS.
- Valid Schengen Visa.
- Good communication skills and a responsible, team-oriented attitude.
- Availability to join ASAP.
General Requirements
- Relevant experience in the position applied for.
- Valid BOSIET with CA-EBS – mandatory.
- Valid STCW certificates – mandatory.
- Valid Schengen Visa – mandatory.
- Valid Seaman's Book and medical fitness certificate, where required for the assignment.
- Good English communication skills.
- Strong awareness of onboard hygiene, safety, and operational procedures.
- Ability to work in a multinational offshore environment.
- Immediate availability for mobilisation preferred.
