We are looking for a Cook to work on Safe Boreas in shipyard Norway. Job description § Plan the daily working schedule of his staff and supervise the results § Ensure that galley crew members under his responsibility follow and apply proper personal hygiene standards and adequate hygiene rules in food handling and preparation § Participate in the preparation, cooking and serving of main meals, in accordance with daily production schedule and specifications of the recipe, in order to: - Have the items which are on the menu ready in time for the different meals - Guarantee hot and cold food products meet the quality standards required by the company and the highest level of guest satisfaction § Cut, trim, bone, tie and grind meats (beef, pork, poultry) and fish and ensure that these high food cost items are within accepted portion control § Use a variety of kitchen tools, including slicing machine, vegetable cutters, grinder, etc. § Identify product needs and requisitions items needed to prepare menu items and notify his supervisor in advance of expected shortage § Check and control daily the storeroom and cooling units (freezers and refrigerators) about food expire date, FIFO, internal labels and other hygienic activities required by company Food Safety Manual § Respect, perform and hold company standards of quality, hygienic, environmental and safety procedures and activities within the food operations Job requirements Ships Cook Certificate BOISET/FOET OEUK or Seafarer Medical Food Hygiene Certificate
